STATEMENT

My conceptual works are the spoils of a quiet rebellion. I am compelled to destroy texts prescribing societal expectations and perpetuating antiquated notions caging those who identify as female. Gleaning inspiration from Jacques Derrida's deconstruction and the Dadaist cut-up process, I ‘punch’ out words, composting the status quo into confetti —a celebratory act of disintegration. Through reusing and remaking the inherited, I manifest change to make room for liberation. Each piece is the residual of these meditative acts, a symbolic embrace of transformation.
