STATEMENT

My artistic journey was profoundly influenced by confronting rules. It compelled an exploration into texts prescribing societal expectations and perpetuating antiquated notions about female behavior. Motivated to challenge and deconstruct these narratives, I developed a methodical approach to physically disassemble these texts by 'punching' out words and transforming them into confetti—an intentional act of disintegration. Gleaning inspiration from Jacques Derrida's deconstruction and the Dadaist cut-up process, my work serves as a composting of ideas, fostering new creative expression and a visual dialogue encouraging contemplation. Each piece, arising from both physical and meditative acts, is a celebration and symbolic embrace of transformation.
